This RS485 Modbus Board from RoundSolutions can be used as extension board (add-on module) for the PingPong Internet of Things (IoT) basic board but also as a stand-alone board serving as a gateway to pass RS485 data from machines onto a PC via its USB interface. Create and implement IoT and M2M applications in a very short time with this innovative embedded solution. The sophisticated hardware will save you development time as well as production cost and you can immediately begin programming. The RoundSolutions RS485 Modbus Board features an RS485 interface, a USB mini-B connector and a freely programmable microcontroller with already integierted Modbus software on the board. The source code for the implementation of Modbus over RS485 is included and is available free of charge. The RS485 Modbus board has a full duplex mode and a half duplex mode and provides maximum flexibility for integration.

As PingPong Board Extension
Expand your Ping Pong baseboard easily with the RS485 Modbus board by one industrial RS485 interface and additional Modbus functionality. Data of industrial machinery can be directly read and transmitted wirelessly, for critical value alerting or even for complete data monitoring in real time. With the Ethernet interface on the PingPong and the RS485 interface on the expansion board, Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP are supported. Once you have plugged the extension board to the PingPong baseboard you can easily adjust it in the development environment to fit your needs.

As a standalone Board
The built-in microcontroller made by Microchip provides extremely high efficiency. It is thus possible to operate the RS485 Modbus board without PingPong baseboard. Use it for example as RS485-to-USB adapter and read machine information, error messages and machine status conveniently on PC.
